SUZANNE
F. SCOTT, who founded Academic Advisory Service, has successfully
counseled top-level college-bound students as well as others
struggling with underachievement, specific learning, emotional
and other difficulties. Due to her training and experience
in education and psychology and extensive personal knowledge
of resources locally as well as throughout the country, she
is able to address a wide range of educational
concerns. She maintains up-to-date knowledge on all aspects
of education through regular visits to school and college
campuses, participation in national and local conferences
and ongoing communication with admissions, clinical and other
professionals in the field. She has held leadership roles
in several professional and community organizations and presented
workshops on a variety of education-related topics.
Before entering the field of education, Suzanne was employed
in industry and in the nonprofit sector. Her background includes
consulting to both private and public schools, advising incoming
Penn State freshmen, as well as 11 years in admissions, counseling,
and placement at a school for dyslexic/LD students.
Suzanne graduated cum laude from Wellesley College and completed the Harvard-Radcliffe certification program in business administration. She earned a master's degree in counseling and guidance and certification in school psychology at Temple University. She is a Certified Educational Planner and State Licensed/Certified School Psychologist.
Her professional affiliations include: American Psychological Association, Independent Educational Consultants Association, Learning Disability Association, National Association of College Admissions Counselors, Pennsylvania Association of School & College Admissions Counselors, Pennsylvania Psychological Association, Specialists of Schools.
